dreams-ofanangel asked: It's tagged feminism because guys act like I don't know anything about guns just because I don't like to talk about them because I actually take war seriously. They act like I'm a "pussy". I shouldn't have to stand for that shit.
That’s not feminism
Tagging your personal grievances with the individual men you choose hang out with is not unlike a “men’s rights activist” tagging a post about getting “friend zoned” as #MRA.
If you want to talk about the systematic sexism and inequality in America that is feminism, good, do that but complaining about a handful of men that you voluntarily hang out with and likening that to say that all men are like that is the exact opposite of feminism and is actually detrimental to feminism.
Now that aside.
I see the rest of your argument as being counterintuitive as well because you are stating that people should not be allowed to enjoy video games or firearms as a hobby because you personally see it as being violent(which is inaccurate) in the end is none of your business and doesn’t effect you. If someone wants to play video games or use firearms for recreation safely you no place to tell them that they can or that what they are doing is wrong. Playing violent video games does not make a person violent, being a violent person does. And there is no correlation between firearms and violence, the gun owners I have met are if anything less violent than the majority of people. And on top of that neither owning guns nor playing video games means someone supports war.
But you do support war, so lets talk about that.
"War is a way to protect our country. It’s not a good thing but it’s what we have to do to protect the rest of the country."
"I just don’t like to talk about it because it’s not something that needs to be discussed in a casual conversation."
You support war but you don’t want people talking about it? There is some serious cognitive dissonance going on here.
